Digicel Foundation Community Grants

The program aims to support local organizations with community grants of up to K50, 000 to deliver projects that provide local solutions to local problems. To apply for funding, organisations must be not-for-profit and have all statutory documentation in place e.g. IPA certification, Constitution, Tax Identification Number etc.  The focus areas for organizations to apply for funding include:

  • Education and Literacy

  • Health

  • Peace Building

  • Leadership and Sustainable  Livelihoods

National Development Bank (NDB) - Women in Business Loan Package

The NDB Women in Business services provides loans to women owned and managed businesses. There are two types of loans available:

  • Starter Loan Package (K5,000 - K100,000)

  • Grower Loan Package (K100,000+)

The NDB Bougainville Enterprise Loans (BEL) provides low interest loans to businesses located in Bougainville. There are two types of loans available:

  • BEL Start-up Loan (K5,000 - K100,000)

  • BEL Grower Loan (K500,000+)

Bougainville Community Grants

The Bougainville Community Grants scheme funds community projects that will improve the lives of Bougainville’s people at the grassroots level. Types of projects that can be funded include:

  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

  • Economic and Social Infrastructure

  • Climate Change Activities

  • Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)

The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, which align with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and designed predominantly by local partners. Projects are selected and approved by the PNG Canadian embassy or high commission. The average CFLI contribution is K11,200 (K14,000 is the maximum allocation amount for a project eligible under CFLI).

Japanese Grant Asistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP)

The Japanese Government offers a financial assistance program for development projects designed to meet the diverse needs of developing countries. The GGP program provides non-refundable financial assistance to NGOs, hospitals, primary schools, research institutes and other non-profit associations, to help implement their development projects.

Direct Aid Program (DAP) Papua New Guinea

The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small grants program funded by the Australian Government and managed from the Australian High Commission in Port Moresby. DAP aims to support small-scale projects with a strong development focus. DAP funding is only available to community groups, NGOs and other organisations engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis.
The maximum DAP funding a project can receive is AU$60,000. Projects must be delivered within six months of funding. For more information, please click on the link below.

Papua New Guinea (PNG) Incentive Fund

The Incentive Fund is a PNG-Australia Partnership initiative, providing high-performing organisations with grants to improve service delivery and/or provide economic opportunities for the people of PNG. Eligible organisations can apply for grants of between K1 million and K10 million, which are awarded through a competitive process. Organisations must submit a project proposal to obtain a grant. USAID Pacific America Fund

The goal of Pacific Aid Fund (PAF) is to improve the quality of life in vulnerable communities and improve access to services for remote communities in the region.

PAF awards grants on an open and competitive basis to qualifying local, national, and international CSOs, including private small and medium enterprises, non-governmental organizations and institutions, universities, and faith-based organizations.
